Lady Susan
This is an original play based on an early novel by Jane Austen. It was, in fact, a precursor to SENSE AND SENSIBILITY and never published in her lifetime. The novel was written as a series of letters and diary entries and tells the story of Lady Susan Vernon and her daughter Frederica. The play takes place after Lady Susan is widowed and is living with her brother-in-law Charles Vernon and his wife Catherine. In the course of the play we are also introduced to Reginald De Courcy and his wife Lady De Courcy close friends of Catherine. In true Jane Austen style, we have unrequited love, love found, love lost, love confused, and love refused. This adaptation of Jane Austen work was written by Michelle Lambeau, Arizona actress and playwright.
