Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR., adapted from Disney's 2008 Broadway production. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above. But first she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking. Ariel
About the Costume
Ariel wears a bodice-style top and a chiffon skirt with a hidden tail to add to her "swimming" effect. The skirt is removed onstage by Flotsam and Jetsam as Ursula transforms Ariel into a human, leaving Ariel standing on her new-found human legs clad in shorts.
About the Character
Ariel is the rebellious mermaid daughter of King Triton and is fascinated with all things human, especially the handsome Prince Eric. She trades her voice to Ursula the Sea Witch in order to spend time in the human world with her love, but will she escape the tragic consequences of the witch's magic?

About the Costume
Prince Eric wears a period shirt, sash, and knickers while aboard his ship, and adds a blue frock coat when performing his princely duties.

Ursula the Sea Witch is intent on taking over her brother Triton's undersea kingdom, and sees Ariel's desire to be human as the perfect opportunity.
