The Fantasticks Theater Costume Rental Phoenix
When two fathers decide that their children should fall in love, they decide to plan a mock abduction of one of them, Louisa. When Matt rescues her, the two fall deeply and madly in love. Soon after, the children learn of their fathers ill attempts and their love fades away. They go their separate ways, learning of the world and gaining life experience. When they become unhappy, they reunite once again.

Matt
About the Costume
Our young hero is dressed here in pastel shirt and neutral trousers to show his naivete and simple outlook on life. If not quite through rose colored glasses, Matt still sees the world as a place of wonder and discovery without yet seeing its pitfalls.
About the Character
Matt is the young "hero" of this piece. Innocent in the ways of the world, he is enticed to leave home and venture out, away from his young love and the safety and comfort of home. He learns the hard way that life is what we make of it.

El Gallo
About the Costume
We dress El Gallo here in Zorro-like garb to give him that dashing look of a legendary character.
About the Character
Depending on your point of view and the particular scene of the play, El Gallo can be seen as either a hero or a villan. He begins as a scoundrel, plotting the abduction with Matt and Louisa's fathers. Then he takes Louisa off to see the world...through a mask that distorts her view things. In the end he brings Louisa back to her loving home and Matt.

Henry
About the Costume
Most often Henry is dressed in some sort of leggings or tights (sometimes pants) and a simple shirt over which he puts a doublet that has seen better days on better stages. Our tunic is satin and in bright, though faded colors and somewhat frayed on the edges.
About the Character
Henry is an itinerant actor/philosopher/adventurer who has seen much of the world and life and has probably forgotten as much as he remembers. He is hired by El Gallo to perform the "rape" of Louisa and later to take Matt out to discover what life has in store.
