YOU RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN
First produced in 1967, this musical comedy was based on the very popular characters created by Charles Schultz in his comic strip PEANUTS. Originally an early PEANUTS character named Patty (not Peppermint Patti) appeared in the show, but in this version, she is replaced with Charlie Brown's younger sister Sally. The show looks at Charlie Brown, a young boy who always feels the weight of the world on his shoulders and his group of best friends. His friend Linus cannot give up his security blanket...an actual blanket he has had since he was a baby. Schroeder who plays "grand Piano" on a toy piano. Lucy who is the bossiest person on Earth. Sally, his little sister, who is in love with Linus. And his dog, a beagle named Snoopy, who lives a fantasy life as WWI Flying Ace chasing down the Red Baron. This odd grouping of youngsters also form a baseball team that Charlie hopes to coach to a championship win! Charlie Brown is every young boy who has ever had a dream that he sees crushed, but he is also every hopeful little boy in us that keeps the dream alive.

Linus Van Pelt

Blanket
About the Costume
Blanket with sleep cap.
About the Character
Within the show, Linus attempts to be without his blanket, but finds that he cannot do so. He then dances with his blanket. (This is sometimes done with a "marionette-style" blanket on strings but here an actor was dressed as the blanket for the dance.)
